The Situation

After years of stalemate between major studios and movie theater owners over the conversion from film to digital projection, Cinedigm pioneered a breakthrough financing mechanism to catalyze progress. With theater conversion largely underway or complete in the United States, the company needed to refresh its brand positioning and visual expression to reflect the next stage of its growth as a new kind of independent studio.

 
The Solution

Recognizing that Cinedigm’s approach was not simply different but more financially resilient and enticing to creators of high quality independent content, we centered the company’s brand in the idea of Smarter Digital Entertainment. We then revamped the cinema-centric logo the company was using to develop a modern visual vocabulary and logo lockup with multiple adaptations that span Cinedigm’s business units—while grounding the brand’s visual expression in an iconic, yet variegated supergraphic ‘C’ that serves as a bold imprimatur of the company’s ambitions for the future.
